Training

If you are wanting to become a corporate flight attendant you will have to seek training on your own, unless you can find a job that will hire you with no experience and send you to training.  Most corporate flight attendants start by working on a contract basis and often remain contract for the remainder of their career.  Like new flight attendants, contract flight attendants are also responsible for their own training.

I personally recommend getting as much training as you can.  There are so many different types of training that can make you a more well-rounded corporate flight attendant.  For example, last year I became a certified etiquette consultant through the Etiquette Institute.  I chose to get this certificate because of what the in-depth etiquette training would add to my interaction with corporate executives as well as to my resume.  I also look for culinary training and extra safety training wherever possible.

As you work as a corporate flight attendant it's easy to get caught up in the idea that culinary training is the most important.  However, we must always remember that survival training and medical training will only be missed when they are needed.  Knock on wood, I have never used my survival or medical training, but I stay current on it just in case I need it.  I never want to be in a situation that I'm not prepared to handle.  As you look for initial training opportunities I would recommend finding the most well-rounded training available.  For example, I know that FACTS and Flight Safety offer survival, fire-fighting, medical and culinary training along with the regular FAA training requirements.  As you progress in your career I would recommend seeking more in-depth training.  For example, The Culinary Institute of America offers week long culinary boot-camps. There are also some in-depth survival training opportunities listed at the bottom of this page.

Below, in no specific order, is a list of training options for corporate flight attendants.  Unless specified, I have no experience with these companies.  I am just listing their websites for you.  Please feel free to add other training opportunities to the sight as you learn about them.  You can add them to the comments section or email me at vipjetgirl@gmail.com to add them to this list.

Flight Safety International  (I have attendant Flight Safety for the past two years.  They have a really nice facility.  I have not attended their initial training.)

Aircare FACTS Training  (I have attended FACTS in Dallas, and I highly recommend them.  Their initial training is excellent, but their facility is not as good as Flight Safety.)

Corporate School of Etiquette

Institute for Private Flight Attendants

Airline Coach

Beyond and Above  (I have not attended this training, but I have read the book.  It was very helpful as I was getting started.)

Corporate Air Parts

Flight Attendant Express

Corporate Flight Attendants Training and Consulting Services

Institute of Travel and Aviation Studies

MedAire  (I have been through countless MedAire training courses.  It's important to have this, but you will get the same info at Flight Safety and FACTS and other well-rounded flight attendant trainings.  Make sure that you will get the equivalent of MedAire before signing up for a training program.)

Stark Survival Training  (This is first I've heard of this, but I totally want to do it.)

Survival Systems USA  (They claim to also train the armed forces.  Could be really cool.)

Aerospace Physiology Training  (I'm planning to attend this summer)
